I will add a Capacitive Touch BoosterPack and a lcd screen for universal monitoring modul for other project. For connect to a robot for see the state of sensor. It's possible to add lot of little help with that : led tester(but everything can be a led tester), servo motor tester, stepper motor, sensor tester.
oops it's will need to be portable just add battery !
Interesting idea.... Could you draw a basic block diagram of your design and share it here?
Have you looked at the DSP add on for the MSP430 Launchpad?
It gives you the Capacitive touch capability and and OLED display along with a DSP set up for audio processing.
You could begin with that core and make a lot of interesing tools off this basic capability.
