So Dave, my date keeps getting pushed back on shipping my Gerboard. Now it's at December 5th. I'm just wondering if it'll even ship at all.
I definitely understand your frustration, we are planning on fulfilling the backorders of the Gertboard as quickly as we can, unfortunately lead times keep getting pushed back, but we will ship one to you they are available to ship. If there are any updates the Raspberri Pi Group page will be the best place to find them.
Sorry if I came across as frustrated. I just wanted to make sure the orders will still be fulfilled. For what it's worth, I am very impressed with the 512MB RaspPi delivery times! Also, it'll give me more time to indulge into Python

Dave, that is what frustrates me. Rather than let me wait for my backorder my order was cancelled. This was just after me getting an email from your site saying they were available, I sign in and order, it gets backordered, then my order gets cancelled. I understand pulling the plug and stopping new orders but I waited about 4 months for a raspberry pi and would wait for a gertboard. I also called in and was told it was being fixed and someone would call me back with a solution and I have NEVER received any communication from anyone - email or a phone call.

I had no idea that I was going to receive an unassembled Gertboard until Dave looked into it for me and discovered that delivery had been attempted yesterday(!) and that it was waiting to be picked only 14 blocks from my house.
I'm very happy with the way Newark has resolved this issue.
I have replied to your PM with my complete order email showing I placed the order and paid for the Gertboard and then after that I pasted in the cancelation note. Please help more than the last phone guy said he was going to. Obviously that phone support guys fed me a line and did not plan on helping me at all of truely following up.

Thanks for pointing that out - we've now updated that article.
We had to do an extra revision of the board and we're expecting the final beta boards this week. We expect to be shipping production boards in time for Christmas.
So... it appears my date has been bumped back again, now to December 12th. At this point, will my order just be converted into an order for the new assembled one?

I have just had this reply from Farnell:
" Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately we are not taking any new orders for the Gertboard at present as this one is going discontinued. We have a new Gertboard that will be launched shortly updates on this will be available through the element14 website."
AFAIK it's only just been released so are Farnell right, or are they behind the times ?
