Yes Atmel Studio 6 is the integrated development platform (IDP) for developing and debugging Atmel ARM® Cortex™-M and Atmel AVR® microcontroller- (MCU-) based applications.
I think we can only execute Atmel's ARM based processor using this tool not like IAR / keil MDK-ARM..Etc which supports different suppliers ARM based processor.
i dont think so visual studio supports ARM based processor, any feedback on this?
Visual Studio directly does not support ARM for uC. It may change in future since they added support for ARM processor in Visual Studio 2012.
The new verion "Visual Studio 2012" will not run on XP machines.
There will be more Java based IDE's than Visual Studio for ARM uC.
i got ARM Compiler toolchain v4.1 Patch 5 for visual studio 2012.The compiler, armcc, enables you to compile your C and C++ code:
— ISO Standard C:1990 source
— ISO Standard C:1999 source
— ISO Standard C++:2003 source
— 32-bit ARM code
— 16/32-bit Thumb-2 code
— 16-bit Thumb code.
