My New Robot

Posted by dubbie Mar 26, 2019
Just received my latest robot called Super Fighter, already assembled which is a change for me. I was attracted to this robot as it had a reasonable price, it looked good, it was supposed to walk (which it does - sort of), fire a 'laser', speak and most importantly, fires foam disks out the front.     It is quite an interesting design as most parts are independent of all others. The laser arm contains it's own motor and LED, the two legs have a motor in each foot, the head just cont ...
It has been a few weeks since I last did any work on my TinyMoBot.   TinyMoBot #6 : The Transparent Version    The battery pack I was using was a 4xAA pack and was much too large to fit inside the glass cover being used. So I decided to purchase a battery booster to take a 3.7V LiPo battery I had to the 5V needed by the rest of the system. As I was ordering this component I decided to get a smaller Arduino as well and settled on the Beetle which is small but does seem rather ex ...
I have a problem with the Element14 web site. Whenever I try to view my emails and messages the number next to the bell turns to a dash and no matter what I do I cannot view any of the messages. Additionally, I cannot create a Blog or look at my actions until after I have selected another process from the drop down menus - at which point the number of messages re-appears and everything works again, except for accessing messages. I'm sure I saw some similar problem to this in another Blog somewhe ...
For my TinyMobot  project ( Tiny24hourMoBot #5 : Post Script - Making it even Tinier ) I have been looking for some smaller motors to replace the continuous rotation micro servo motors I currently use. I have ordered a selection of various types, including some small stepper motors and the first of these have arrived.   There are micro DC motors approximately 8 mm long and 4 mm in diameter. They are designed to be vibrators in mobile phones so come with an off-centre weight attached. ...
eI have now re-assembled the robot arm more correctly and connected all the wiring together and it is all working, sort of!   I downloaded the correct software now as I think the software I was looking at in Blog4 was the right one. LewanSoul make all their software downloads available in the same place so you have to look for the right one rather than just download what shows on the robot you are looking at. Anyway, once downloaded and everything plugged in it started to work. I wasn't su ...
Having completed the mechanical assembly I moved onto the electrical assembly, which is essentially just the connecting of the servo motors inserial format to the controller and then adding power. However, when trying to wire up the servo motors I discovered that I had made a small mistake right at the beginning when assembling the base where I had turned one of the plates the wrong way up. What this meant was that two holes did not align and therefore the small three wire cables used to connect ...
