I've been working on a breadboarded BoosterPack to test the CAN modules on the TI Hercules LaunchPad, without transceivers or real CAN bus. This is inspired by the following Siemens application note AP2921 On-Board Communication via CAN without Transceiver. The example allows you to run and probe the canIntCommunication example from HALCoGen by using 1 resistor, 2 diodes, some wire and a breadboard. For learning use only. This design is not intended for use outside your lab. See this design fo ...
I hadn't reviewed the encryption module of the Zero Gecko microcontroller yet.   The Zero Gecko processor family supports an accelerator for encryption and decryption. Simplicity Studio comes with application note AN0033 and example projects. The examples don't target the Zero Gecko. But they have enough info to get you started. I loaded the example 'EFM32G_aes_cbc_128', a 128 bit CBC (Cipher Block Chaining) example.     My first step was to understand what the example is do ...
Inspired by the Zero Gecko Starter Kit roadtest review of  baldengineer , I'm going to try if I can get the weather station example log its data to an SD card. The example shows its data to the lcd screen by default. I wonder if it's possible to log to a microSD in stead.     We already have the weather station up and running, and we have a working SD card example. But there are roadblocks: baldengineer has made an attempt to do this, and he ran out of memory space. I've mad ...
