I have been fighting to get my dual display board to function. The first attempt was to use a 50-pin breakout board: FAIL; The second attempt was to pin the ICs to the connector which is an IDC male with a notch (upper-left 1, lower-left, etc.  FAIL; Third and final attempt worked! I said the heck with their number scheme. So I went with an old standard row 1 upper-left pin 1  - 15; lower-right pin  16 - 30 which is now over pin 1.   So without further eloquence here is the 3 ...

Well, while at the local Goodwill Junk Store, everything under 7 pounds is $1.50 and over is well just $5.00, I found a PanaVice with a  vacuum base (model 380) with a set of PCB arms. Now the picture is from the internet. Mine is much worse for ware, the center bar is badly rusted even though the arms move freely. And at this point I have my doubts about the vacuum pad as well.  But since is was only 3 pounds my cost was $4.50 not bad for about a 90 dollar piece of kit. ~~Cris ...

Statement: Driving Pinlight Lamps is very challenging. The design requirements are 4vdc @ 15ma per segment, if you are interested look here. So for the 7-segment displays total current is 7 x 15ma. or 105 ma. Now multiply that by 19 displays x 150ma or 1995 ma or just under 2 amps. For the 16-segment displays, which there are 4 the total current is 16 x 4 x 15ma or 960 ma or just under 1 amp. An Arduino can't even handle on segment.
