I am calling this Life Support: Monitor and Control. Why you ask? This is a complete system that can control heating or cooling without changing settings. run the fan automatically for air quality and also handle a dehumidifier as well as detection  for smoke, fire and carbon monoxide. Analysis: The first hurdle is that an Arduino has only GPIO pins but you can not get to a bus from here, without a lot of bit-banging by the CPU. Second, the Displays are smart devices and designed to have both Address and Data Buses. The only thing is to use an I2C peripheral expander.  The only problem is that the I2C bus limits to about 1 meter. I have decided to update my Fuel Load Indicator which has only outputs for a human. My goal is to Recycle & Retrofit this indicator so that it can talk over the CANaerospace network. The network responds to node 0 for multicast, and also nodes 668 - 675 (tank_1 - tank_8). I have not been able to get the display to fire up with the pinouts here. This project is well overdue as I started it over 2 years ago. If you remember the power cord set was unobtainium, and they had just soldered in a cable and tied a knot in it and called it a day.  So I decided to mount an STD IEC power connector on the back of the shell. Oh well, after hooking up my 4x20 LCD (that was held over from the Beagle Bone AI project, that I could never get to work) it still failed on my Arduino Mega. I ordered one, off eBay. Well in my unpacking I came across this old piece of history, a one-inch diameter  Magnesian. It was made g-d knows when. This device has only four pins, which threw me for a loop. I did not understand how it worked until I found figure 2. Ok I'm back at it repairing stuff, the inner and outer front panels have been pressed and pounded on and then the aluminum outer panel got some new gray paint.  I have also replaced the cheap binding posts in favor of some surplus Pamona posts. THEN NOW Well, I have this unit on the repair shelf for a since 2015/07/22 So after much sawing and filing I got the NEMA socket to fit in the damn hole. In hindsight, I am glad I used the spade lugs! I then use a Molex type plug set with some wire on it so that I can work on the unit while the back is off. I also replaced the 600ohm solid wire with stranded wires as well. The 50ohm  cable is not grounded at the circuit board but only at the connector, to reduce ground loops   Goo ...
THEN NOW   Black (Hot) and White (Neutral) ended up switched so 110 VAC ended up on my ground-plane! Push on connectors are a must! I replaced the bridge with 4 100vdc 5 amp monsters.  It took quite a bit of heat to solder the big leads so I sub in an IR bridge  12DB6A I have a lot of harmonics to fix.
