Giving Snips a Try

After seeing the blog post What makes an office smart?  I decided that I should give Snips a try.  I have multiple Echo devices in my house and I have also tried Google (AIY Voice kit) but there are some circumstances where it is beneficial to keep voice interaction/control on the local network.  I currently use Alexa for voice control of a pan/tilt outdoor security IPcamera.  I'd like to retain this capability even if the Internet connection is down (I record on a local NVR ...
