I just attended the the one day NXP Technology Days conference in Seattle, WA (actually in Bellevue). It was held at the Meydenbauer Convention Center. This is the first Tech Days conference that I've attended.
In the morning I attended an info session on the iMX 8M (multimedia) family of processors. The Mini and the Nano are newer and the Mini is available now with the Nano coming out in 4Q of this year.
After the info session I attended a hands-on workshop for the 8M Mini. We got to deploy Android and Linux OS's to the Mini EVK board and also evaluated MIPI camera capture and HD video streaming.
At lunch time they opened the Technology Lab where NXP and their distributors and partners were demonstrating different products and applications.
In the afternoon I attended an Amazon Web Services workshop that demonstrated using an LPC54018 IoT development board to connect to the AWS IoT Cloud using Amazon FreeRTOS. After the workshop we got to keep the development board which was great!
Below is a picture of the LPC54018 board and also a NFC keychain that I picked up from the Future Electronics table at the Technology Lab. It has a temperature and humidity sensor and an accelerometer that can be read as an NFC tag. The second picture below show a screenshot from my Android tablet of the tag data.
A very satisfying experience overall. Thanks to NFC for the conference. And the lunch buffet was great
