I don't know the supported rate, but you can easily try it out and verify the result.
raspistill -o a%04d.jpg -t 1800000 -tl 500
This command will take pictures for 30 minutes (-t) every 500ms (-tl).

yes it is possible if you consider that here you can find many projects for the PI camera making more than 2 fps. Considering the power of the PI (what is the model you have?) I think there is also a very low risk that you meet some hangs due to the processor speed. The only problem I see is the possibile stress of the microSD for a continuous usage. Where do you plan to store the images you capture?

As I wrote on the same English thread, I do not have any RPI at the moment. I was asking just to know the capabilities of the processor.
I would like to build a set of RPIs and camera boards to take pano (360*) pictures.
Unfortunately I cannot figure out how to connect the RPIs to send a signal from one of them to the others to shoot a photo at the same time (with a possible delay of about 2 ms at the most).
I have no experoence on computer networks and any hints on that would be very useful.
Vorrei sapere qual è la massima ferquenza di scatto per foto con risoluzione 8Mp per una cameraboard v2 connessa a un RPI che ha solo la camera e niente altro, cioè che scatta solo foto e non fa altro..
E' possibile scattare 2 foto a 8 Mp al secondo per esempio per mezz'ora o un'ora?
