You can view the variants directly in the schematic. First you must compile your design from the schematic editor, once done you will see tabs at the bottom of the main document window to switch between the variants that are defined.
Thank you very much.
For correct showing of 3D model redrawing the 3D model and renaming of the component name helped, though I do not know why and what the correct sequence is. Maybe there is just a bug..
Is there a way have variants of assembly drawings?
Thank you again Peter,
It worked now. I don't know what I was doing wrong first time.
One more question. Is it possible to add a comment or title to the pages in the exported pdf file. Now I see only the board images.
To add extra text and documentation I believe you would need these to be on a layer and then to include the layer in the printout generation using Configure.
I am exploring the Variants.
I succeeded with schematics - I can export the correct schematic depending on the chosen variant.
Is there a way to work with the chosen variant also in the editor directly?
When working with PCB I realized that many components are displayed according to the variants, but some of my own are still displayed whatever he chosen variant is. Is there any additional parameter or settings to use in order to make this work?
I also realized I have a component with 3D model shown in component editor correctly, but never shown in the 3D board view (no component shown in 2D view on 3D top or 3D bottom layer either). Does anyone have an idea what can be done wrong?
Thank you in advance.
