how to program element 14 as a KVM

    erikab

      Hello,

Using a basic raspberry pi element 14, i'm trying to find out a way to program it to be used as a KVM, basically connecting a PC to a television display using the HDMI cable going to the TV. Is there something like this available?

      Many thanks,

      EB

A KVM switch is used to switch a set of peripherals (keyboard video display and mouse) between 2 or more computers so you only need one set of user interface peripherals. The Pi could be one of the computers, but it is not a KVM switch.

With the right software it could perform the KM (keyboard and mouse) switch part of the function but to do the video would require 2 HDMI inputs, which it does not have. Maybe if you added a couple of HDMI-to-USB modules it could do it.
