I suppose you want to connect remotely to a Pi , so you will use the preinstalled server (or install it as explained above).
Determine the IP of the Pi (as reported by the VNC server), and try to connect to it from a PC or another device using a RealVNC client. This is all you need in your local (home) network - LAN.
If the connection was not successful, make sure you are in the same network or have properly configured firewall and/or a network router (or port forwarding in case you are connecting over the internet).
