element14, an Avnet Community, is celebrating Halloween with its latest “Screen2Scream” Design Challenge. Community members are encouraged to build a spooky project inspired by a favorite film or show for a chance to win festive treats (no tricks included!).

Designers participating in the challenge can lean into their on-screen favorites for inspiration, potentially creating projects such as:

·         A working Ghostbusters trap

·         A lightsaber from Star Wars

·         Recreation of the fairy lights from Stranger Things

·         A prop Tricorder from Star Trek

“Halloween is a great opportunity to showcase creativity, which is something our community loves to do,” said Phil Hutchinson, Senior Specialist Community Programs for element14. “We can’t wait to see how our community translates something from their favorite movie or show into an exciting, original electronics design.”

To enter the competition, members must post a blog showcasing their project by November 10, 2023 within the Halloween – Projects and Videos space. Blog posts with high-quality photos and videos are highly encouraged. Entries will be judged by both the project and blog post.

The best “Screen2Scream” entry will receive the Ultimate Horror Movie Fright-Night-In Kit which includes a home cinema HD projector, popcorn machine, a scratchable Top 100 Horror Movies poster and a collection of classic horror movies on DVD.
