Get the Right Soldering Tip Every Time with New Farnell Selector

Single source tip guide features manufacturers such as Weller, Metcal and Pace

FAR466_Tip Selector

Farnell, the Development Distributor, announces the launch of its new soldering tip selector. The easy-to-use soldering tip selector helps customers choose the right tip for over 100 different soldering systems and stations, from 1,500 tips in stock all available from Farnell for next day delivery.

Soldering efficiency depends on the soldering station used, the soldering irons and tips, as well as the soldering techniques. Ensuring that you have the right tip to take on your soldering project is as important as ensuring your chosen device has the correct wattage and temperature controls to handle the type of task you plan to undertake and the level of use you anticipate.

With the soldering tip selector, customers simply need to choose their device name to quickly identify tips which are compatible with their soldering equipment, meaning that they no longer have to work through the many manufacturers and options to find the tip they require. The soldering tip selector aims to reduce the time required to find and buy the correct soldering tip and avoid the possibility of ordering the wrong part.

James McGregor, Global Head of Test and Tools at Farnell said: “It can be a challenging task to figure out which tip goes with which system. Farnell’s new soldering tip selector helps you choose the right and best tip for any iron to complete your perfect soldering system. We have made it very simple for our customers to find the tips they require from the very wide range we offer, reducing the time they need to spend searching for replacement parts and minimising the possibility of incorrect ordering.”

Farnell stocks a broad range of soldering solutions from leading manufactures such as Weller, Metcal and Pace, including:

  • Weller WT2M 2-Channel Soldering Station: Packing 150W of power and maximum versatility, the WT2M 2-channel soldering station is the latest addition to Weller’s high-performance WT Line, offering a best-in-class portfolio, backwards compatibility with existing soldering tools and a comprehensive range of accessories.
  • Metcal CV-5210: Metcal soldering stations have led the way with SmartHeat® technology for 35 years. The CV-5210 with SmartHeat senses the thermal load and instantly delivers Power on Demand directly to the joint. The embedded, self-regulating heater delivers the right amount of power based on the requirements of the solder joint. This provides a fast, safe and repeatable process with no calibration required. Backwards compatible with the MX series, the CVC-5210 features a 2.8” colour touchscreen with bold graphics, communications, Integrated Net Power Meter and power graph. It stores and records cartridge attributes, provides traceability information, and protects the power supply from non-conforming cartridges.
  • The Pace WJS 100 Series features all the advanced process control technology now expected from PACE but now with nearly twice the maximum power output to make easy work of the most challenging, high-thermal-mass or high-volume soldering applications. Featuring PACE’s Exclusive IntelliHeat™ Control Technology it is fully programmable with a digital processor, LED display and keypad. Having nearly twice the maximum power output increases productivity at safer, lower temperatures, even on the heaviest loads and offers lower Cost of Ownership.
