Newark signs new agreement with Io Audio Technologies
Agreement adds premium range of high-fidelity cables and connectors for professional, high current and home applications to ‘in-stock’ range

Newark, an Avnet Company and global distributor of electronic components, products and solutions, has signed a new franchise agreement with Io Audio Technologies, expanding its audio component portfolio with high fidelity cables and connectors. These premium products are designed by and built for musicians and audio systems that require the delivery of high-fidelity signals used in professional recording and broadcast studios, music venues and home applications. The connectors are ideal for high current applications such as stage productions, lighting and video distribution systems.
Io Audio Technologies is the first specialist audio manufacturer to be added to Newark’s line card providing customers who are designing high-end audio systems with access to high-fidelity cables and connectors alongside their other component needs.
The premium range of high-fidelity cables and connectors now available from Newark include:
- Premium Series XLR microphone cable: provides pristine audio quality even in the noisiest RF or EMI environments. The cable employs a dual conductor configuration with a dual braided shield in a star-quad configuration, making it significantly more effective at filtering out RF or EMI noise than traditional twisted-pair types. Silver-plated connectors improve conductivity and latching strain relief ensures a reliable connection.
- Powerlatch™ power cables and connectors: A rugged series of AC power cables designed for single-phase AC applications with 20A at 250V AC rating. Designed for use in indoor and outdoor environments, utilizing a weatherproof jacket to ensure proper performance and safety. Fitted with twist-to-lock connectors which virtually eliminate accidental unplugging and provide the safest connection possible for high current applications. A pre-mating ground contact ensures the cable is properly grounded before the rest of the conductors engage.
- Cat 6 Etherlatch™ cables and connectors: A perfect alternative for AVL networking applications where a more robust connection method is necessary. Heavy-duty twisted-pair category cables deliver strain relief designed to comply with AVoIP protocols and exceptionally low skew delay. Connectors benefit from rugged metal shell housing to protect from damage, and a locking mechanism to ensure robust connection. Integral plastic strain relief also extends the life of the network cable.
Michael Ulch, Head of Product Management IP&E at Newark said: “As a premium audio cable and connector manufacturer, Io Audio Technologies is an exceptional addition to Newark’s range of global suppliers. Io Audio Technologies’ loyal customer base, who choose these products because of their quality and reliability, can now benefit from Newark’s fast shipping. This addition also provides existing Newark customers with access to high-end cables and connectors alongside other component needs to simplify their procurement process.”
Io Audio Technologies design, develop, and manufacture a broad line of high-quality AVL equipment. As an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer, Io Audio Technologies leverage extensive experience in production and engineering within the live sound industry to deliver high-quality audio cables, connectors, and accessories for audio professionals and musicians.
Newark’s customers benefit from an extensive range of support, including 24/5 technical support and free access to online resources, datasheets, application notes, videos and webinars on Newark’s website.
