Farnell element14 First to Stock Industry Firsts in the Vishay 2015 Super 12 Range

Farnell element14 is the first to stock the MEPIC, IHLE-4040DC-5A, MMA 0204 HV and MMB 0207 HV from the industry-first products featured in this year’s Vishay 2015 Super 12.

The Massive Electro-Pyrotechnic Initiator Chip (MEPIC) resistor in 0805 SMD case size has very predictable, reproducible and reliable behaviour and meets USCAR and AKLV16.  MEPIC can be adapted for use with various pyrotechnic materials for applications such as mining electronic detonators (digital blasting), fireworks, electric matches and civil detonators for demolition.

IHLE-4040DC-5A is the only e-field shielded IHLP® power inductor on the market.  It reduces e-field up to 20 dB at 1cm and eliminates the need for costly, bulky Faraday shields. Applications include DC/DC converter circuits near noise-sensitive components, automotive control circuitry, computer and other high-current, noisy power supplies.

MMA 0204 HV and MMB 0207 are high-voltage MELF resistors with 500V and 1000V voltage ratings. The resistors have high-operating voltage up to 1 kV with high-voltage SMD metal film resistors. Applications and market segments include lighting industrial inverters and electrical vehicles.

The 2015 Super 12 products provide a cross-section of Vishay’s very broad product portfolio. The Super 12 provide the industry-leading specifications that design engineers need to create new generations of end products. We are proud to partner with Farnell element14 as a preferred distributor for Vishay’s 2015 Super 12 products.
Joel Smejkal, Senior Vice President, Distribution Sales, Vishay

The 196 HVP ENYCAPTM polarized energy storage capacitor (suitable for energy harvesting applications) and Si7157DP P-Channel MOSFET are the other industry-first products in the Vishay 2015 Super 12. These products as well as the AY2 Series Ceramic Safety Capacitors (AEC-Q200 certified), SiC620R Integrated Power Stage, PLZ Series Zener Diodes and VOW3120 IGBT and MOSFET Driver are all currently stocked by Farnell element14. The WSHM2818 High-Power (7 W) Current Sense Resistor and the SiHP33N60EF / EF Series High-Voltage MOSFETs are available to pre-order, with first stock expected in June. The FRED Pt® Gen 4 Diode Chips is only available directly from Vishay.

As engineers look to increase the flexibility of their designs to minimise space and maximise efficiency, having access to the newest technologies is a logical requirement.  Vishay’s commitment to innovation makes them a great fit for our customer’s changing product requirements. We are excited at the prospect of this partnership being first to market with these high end products.
Jesper Rasmussen, Global Product Director, Passives at Premier Farnell

The Super 12 range is released annually by Vishay and consists of six semiconductors and six passive components which they perceive to be the best or first in the industry. To find out more visit www.farnell.com/vishay-super-12 , where both the 2015 and 2014 ranges are featured.
