Farnell, an Avnet Company and global distributor of electronic components, products and solutions, has today announced the expansion of its electromechanical and passive portfolio to include specialised products from CTS, a leading designer and manufacturer of switches and timing devices.

CTS manufactures high quality sensors, actuators and electronic components for the aerospace and defence, industrial, medical, telecommunications and transportation markets. The company’s range includes DIP switches, timing products, and potentiometers which are widely used in the design of electric guitars and other musical instruments. Customers can benefit from same day dispatch on all CTS products.

Selected products from CTS now available for fast delivery from Farnell include:
Series 218 Half Pitch SMD DIP Switch has a unique compact design allowing it to be used in miniature applications as well as IT servers, set top boxes, modems, security and HVAC systems. An optional sealed structure version of the switch, which has been optimised for board washing during automated soldering processes, is also available.
Series 291 Precision Long-life 12mm Optical Encoder features a highly reliable and precise digital output, offering greater design versatility in applications. The non-contact design ensures long rotational life, and an optional momentary switch may be specified. Optical encoders are suitable for industrial, medical, communication, laboratory, automotive, security, audio and entertainment applications.
Model CB3LV Low Voltage Clock Oscillator is a low cost, low voltage clock oscillator supporting HCMOS output. Using the latest IC technology, the Model CB3LV offers excellent stability and low phrase jitter performance, making it an ideal solution for a range of frequency control products.
Model 416 Ultra-Miniature Surface Mount Crystal incorporates a high Q quartz resonator and is an ideal solution for commercial and industrial applications such notebooks, computer peripherals, wearables and handheld electronics. Key features include a hermetic ceramic surface mount package, frequency range of 24-96MHz and operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C.

Simon Meadmore, Global Head of IP&E, Farnell says: “We are delighted to add CTS to our portfolio and look forward to a long and successful relationship with one of the world’s leading manufacturers. Adding CTS products will enhance our range of fully integrated and cost-effective switches and timing solutions for design engineers.

“This new distribution agreement provides customers with access to best-in-class and cost effective solutions from Farnell’s always expanding inventory- and we expect to see strong demand for CTS’s innovative component solutions.”

MingChin Yen, Vice President of CTS Electronic Components says: “We are excited about our new partnership with Farnell and the associated synergies with Avnet, our worldwide broad channel distributor. This agreement enables a wider community of customers with better access to CTS’s leading products and technologies.”
