Farnell, an Avnet Company and global distributor of electronic components, products and solutions, has signed a global franchise agreement with CUI Inc. (CUI) to expand its comprehensive line card and power portfolio. A total of 780 products from CUI’s broad range of efficient and reliable power solutions are now available to Farnell customers designing products for the consumer, Internet of Things (IoT), industrial and medical industries.

CUI, a Bel group company focuses on providing design engineers with power solutions that meet their technical and manufacturing requirements. The extensive range includes external and internal AC-DC power supplies and DC-DC converters, adding depth and breadth to Farnell’s market leading power range. CUI offers complete design support and ease of use, providing design engineers with all the information and tools required to build new products.

Simon Meadmore, Global Head of IP&E at Farnell, says: “Farnell’s goal is to ensure that our customers have access to a broad and relevant range of components for new product development. Adding CUI products to our power portfolio will enhance our range of fully integrated and cost-effective power solutions for design engineers. Farnell and Bel have built a strong relationship based on delivering excellent value to customers.”

Dan Bernstein, President and CEO of Bel says: “Farnell is an important partner for Bel and is integral to allowing us to better serve the engineering community throughout Europe. Based on Bel’s strong relationship with Farnell, we knew we could improve our product offering and availability by adding CUI’s power products to the portfolio. This will enable us to offer more product options with immediate availability online within Europe.”

Farnell has been a partner to Bel and its companies for almost 20 years, selling a broad array of products including magnetic solutions, power supplies, circuit protection, and interconnects. CUI was originally focused on oscilloscopes and electromechanical components, however seized an opportunity to design and manufacture power supplies, which has grown into a market-leading portfolio of AC-DC power supplies and DC-DC converters.

Farnell offers an extensive range of support services to design engineers, including free access to online resources, data sheets, application notes, videos and webinars on Farnell’s website as well as 24/5 technical support. Farnell customers can also access Avnet’s broad ecosystem, ensuring support at every stage to save customers time and money by speeding up their design to production journeys.
