Farnell, the Development Distributor, will strengthen the depth and breadth of its passive component range with the addition of KOA Europe GmbH, a leading manufacturer of passive components. KOA is renowned for manufacturing high specification products for a wide range of industrial, commercial and automotive markets.

Available in the autumn, Farnell’s customers will have access to KOA’s full portfolio with around 1500 lines of in-stock products available for fast delivery across Europe. In addition to thick film resistors, the broad product range includes shunt/current sense resistors, wide terminal resistors, high voltage resistors, thin film chip resistors and surge protection resistors.

The addition of KOA products enhances Farnell’s comprehensive range of passive components with customers benefiting from no minimum order quantity, contract pricing, and flexible pricing options as well as scheduled and consolidated orders.

Simon Meadmore, Global Head of IP&E at Farnell, says: “KOA is a leading global manufacturer of passive component solutions and a very welcome addition to Farnell’s product range. The depth and breadth of KOA’s specialist range of chip resistors, sensors and inductors greatly enhances Farnell’s world-class portfolio of more than 360,000 passive components. As a distributor with a strong supply network, our new partnership with KOA will ensure our customers have fast access to the highest quality passive components.”

Mike Armstrong, General Manager Marketing and Sales at KOA Europe GmbH said: “Farnell is an excellent partner for KOA and this major franchise agreement means the availability of our passive component portfolio really steps up a gear. Bringing on board a world-leading distributor in the form of Farnell solidifies our position as a major manufacturer of resistors and other passive devices, providing engineers and members of our customer base an alternative source of KOA’s important components.”

Established eighty years ago this year, KOA has a strong commitment to bring to market high-quality products with on-time delivery and responsive customer service support. KOA holds the number two global market share position for chip resistors.

Farnell offers an extensive range of support services to design engineers, including free access to online resources, data sheets, application notes, videos and webinars on Farnell’s website as well as 24/5 technical support. Farnell customers can also access Avnet’s broad ecosystem, ensuring support at every stage to save customers time and money by speeding up their design to production journeys.

The KOA product range will be available for fast shipping in the autumn from Farnell in EMEA, and element14 in APAC.
