Newark element14 continued to support students as they hone their coding and product development skills at the fifth annual HackMIT this weekend, the largest student-run hackathon hosted by Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The Development Distributor provided participating students with a variety of fundamental electrical components to use in their designs, from prototyping boards and cables, to motors and batteries. This year’s hackathon attracted over 1,000 students worldwide who, over a 24-hour period, teamed up to build functioning hardware and software projects, ranging from new mobile applications to machine learning solutions.

Students had access to a diverse spread of essential tools offered by Newark element14, from Raspberry Pi development boards, Arduino UNO and Arduino MKR boards, to TENMA test leads and probes, MULTICOMP Breadboards and Piezo Transducers.

“For the students’ projects to be successful, we wanted to ensure that they had easy access to the tools they would need to bring their ideas to life,” said Dianne Kibbey, Global Head of Community and Social Media for Newark element14. “As the Development Distributor, we are committed to helping empower the future engineering community. Our sponsorship of HackMIT is one way in which we’re proud to encourage young engineers to create breakthrough technology.”

Newark element14 is dedicated to innovation and building the next generation of engineers. Through its silver sponsorship of HackMIT, Newark element14 was able to help empower students to tap into their creative minds and create new, innovative solutions.
