element14 equipping young innovators with a brighter future

element14 facilitates STEM and project based learning within underprivileged communities

element14, the global technology leader is working with a number of NGOs in India to set up state of the art lab facilities and promote STEM education. As the Development Distributor, element14 is committed to developing an interest in technology among young people, especially in underprivileged communities.

This support has included:

  • Working with the We Share Happiness Foundation (WSH) as they launched their first Raspberry Pi Lab, which opened in August, by helping to equip the lab withRaspberry Pi kits.The foundation aims to encourage government school children to build an interest in STEM education through its WSH Pi Lab program.

  • Supporting Kadapa-based, Aarti For Girls, which fosters and supports abandoned girls by providing them with a home and opportunity. Aarti For Girls works to educate and empower women in the larger community through training and advocacy programs that allow them to achieve economic independence and increase their self-confidence. element14 provided BBC micro:bits to support a workshop for students at grade 7-10.

  • Role as official equipment partner for the STEM-C (Science, Technology, English, Mathematics and Computer) Program developed by the Saraswati Sewa Foundation (SSF), a non-proft organisation, and The Institution of Engineering and Technology Services India (IET), to create ‘Tech Awareness Events’ in schools.  element14 provided a range of Raspberry Pi and Micro:bit Kits for the program, which aims to promote project-based learning (PBL) in schools and organise STEM-C classes for under-privileged children in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
